Chapter One: A Job...With Gajeel?
Levy stood in front of the job board, her hazel eyes scanned for an easy, but well paid job. As she looked, she thought about Droy and Jet, after Fairy Tail’s last battle with the Dark Guild Scary Night, she was worried about the Guild having enough money to help pay for their recovery.
“Hey Levy!” Mira said, waltzing to Levy’s side.
“Hey Mira,” Levy’s eyes didn't leave the board.
“I saw this job--”
Levy spun to face her, “Job?” she said hopefully.
“Yeah, here,” Mira handed the small folded brown piece of paper to Levy. The blunette took it happily, she opened it and read through it, her face fell.
“I don’t know if I’m strong enough for this..”
“Take someone with you!” Mira smiled, “I’m sure you’ll be fine!”
Levy nodded politely to Mira, and turned back to the board. As she turned, she tripped over Mira’s foot, and fell into the arms of Gajeel. Her job paper glided to the floor.
Her face went pink, “I’m sorry,” she squeaked.
“Just be more careful,” he scolded, setting her back on her feet. She took a step back, then noticed her paper was missing, she looked around, and realized Gajeel had it in his hand.
“You planning on taking this job?” he asked, eyeing her.
“Um--” Levy started.
“Yeah, I just gave it to her! And she needs someone to go with her!” Mira interjected, nudging Levy.
Gajeel grinned, “I ain’t got nothing better to do,” he glanced back towards the black cat, “Hey Lily, got off your ass, we’re going on a job.”
Levy glanced at Mira, Lily, and finally at Gajeel, she sighed, “okay, lets go.”
Gajeel winked at Mira, as he followed Levy out of the Guild. He still had the paper in his hand, he unfolded it and read through it. Depending on how smoothly it went, it could either be a three day or a five day trip. The job itself was in Jocular, a train ride away. The paper said that the whole town was cursed, and there was a book that was hidden deep in the mountains. The book had the spell that could lift the curse, but it was written in an Ancient language. One that only Levy could read.
“Where are we headed, again?” Levy asked, looking back at Gajeel. Instead of answering, he handed her the paper.
Her mouth dropped open, “Wow, that much money, just for a little translating?” she gawked at the pay. Gajeel smirked, as they neared the train station.
Gajeel sat opposite from Levy in the seat. Panther Lily sat next to her, his arms folded. Levy had her nose in a red back book, her orange reading glasses were slipping down her nose, and her hair was falling out of the messy ponytail. Gajeel couldn’t help but stare, her eyes shifted up to him. He quickly looked out the window.
“I’m reading about the town’s curse,” she spoke, her eyes still on Gajeel.
Gajeel looked back, “What about it?”
“Well...” she mused, “according to this, Jocular used to be a prosperous land, but one day a terrible feud between the Bluebloods and the Skyraiders broke out. There was war, disease, and famine. Many people died. Soon the war came to an end, and peace was restored, but now, the people are plagued with bad dreams. At night, people have sworn to see ghosts, and have heard screams of their dying loved ones. Lots of people in the town have left.”
“Why are they convinced a book will save them?” Panther Lily asked.
“The wife of the Skyraiders was sick of the war,” Levy answered, “all three of her sons had been taken by it. She was a powerful mage, and with her power, she cursed the town. Its said that the curse won’t be lifted until the clashing houses put aside their differences. It’s rumored that she put the book, the one with the reversing spell, in the heart of the mountain.”
“Haven’t they put aside their differences?” Lily asked again, looking at Levy.
Gajeel answered, “One never truly puts aside their differences,” he took a long look at Levy, then shifted his eyes towards the window.
Levy could feel herself turning pink, she knew that last sentence was meant for her. She raised the book, attempting to hide her pink face. Why was Gajeel acting this way? This was the second--no third time he jumped at the opportunity of helping her.
'He only wants to beat up people, silly,' Levy thought to herself, 'No,' she glanced at Gajeel, 'There has to be more to it.'

Gajeel x Levy fanfic
The Best Ship Is... Partnership?
It was slowly settling in Levy's mind. Her being chosen for the S-class exams had been shocking enough. But the fact that Gajeel - Gajeel - had offered to be her partner for the duration of the exams had almost blown her mind. She was grateful because it had raised her chances exponentially and also solved the dilemma of choosing between Jet and Droy. But...
There was always some but.
Gajeel was, simply put, an insufferable slave driver.
"We've got only one week to get you in better shape. Stamina is the most important thing here. You need to be able to keep up with me."
"But-" Levy tried to protest as he

Gajeel took a sip of his booze, then reached down to the plate infront of him. He chewed away on a piece of steel, silently examining the bottles behind the bar. He looked down at the plate again, and sighed. Mira, who was cleaning nearby, looked over.
"Gajeel?" She asked, stepping over.
"Mmh?" He grunted as he looked up at the girl, a scowl on his face.
"How about you go on a job? Being idle for too long can never be good!" She grinned, beckoning at the request board. He mumbled something under his breath. His crimson eyes scanned the board, nothing in particular catching his eye. Just as he reached to further examine a rather dull looking

Gajeel x Levy Fanfic
Levy searched the request board for a proper job, one she thought she could manage on her own, mainly because she was somewhat disgusted with herself for not being able to go on a job without at least one other person. As her soft brown eyes quickly scanned the different papers, she realized with a sigh that they were all too hard for her. Crossing her arms, Levy glared at the board, and before she turned to leave, a voice grumbled behind her.
"Looking for a job, Shorty?" Levy nearly jumped three feet, her skin crawling, hair on edge. When she did turn around, she saw the one and only Gajeel towering over her, his arms, as always, crossed ov
